Bluetooth pairing issues with iPhone 14 Pro Max and resolution

I upgraded from an iPhone 12 Pro Max to the 14 Pro Max. The 12 paired flawlessly. As luck would have it, my 14 wouldn't pair. I restarted the Bluetooth (BT) connection, rebooted the phone, turned the ELW on and off and so on.

I was pretty much ready to give up until I remembered about an app that would help with this. It is called "LightBlue". Not sure if they have it for Android. It basically helps you punch through all the BT noise so to speak.

If you download it and open up the app, you'll see ALL the BT devices around you. In my garage alone there were 30 devices broadcasting a BT connection. Make sure your HD app is off and BT on. Put your bike in pairing mode and search for "HD" on the LightBlue app. Then ask it to connect to the bike, accept the pairing request, and voila, you have a BT connection setup in your phone to the LiveWire.

I wish I would have remembered about this earlier. It would have saved me a lot of time. Hopefully this will save someone time in the future.

You're a life saver! I just updated to the S22 Ultra and was having the same issues. They do have Lightblue for Android. I downloaded and used that app. Connected without issue! Thank you!!!
Glad to help. I can't tell you how frustrating it was when I upgraded my phone and couldn't connect at all. I am sure I said a few words that I am glad my family didn't hear.

Hours and hours at the dealer in 2021. I just gave up. I haven’t taken out the bike since April 2022 because it made me so angry. I love you and thank you!
Glad to help someone out. I know how frustrating this can be when you can't connect your device to your vehicle. If it just helps one person, it is worth my time to post.
I've been reading many of the posts regarding connectivity issues with the H-D app as well as reviews in the App Store that are pretty mixed. I have been riding my LiveWire a couple years now without the app using my phone with a RokForm case and mount which holds it securely. I was wondering if someone on this thread has been using the app for a long time and would like to share the pros and cons? How is it better than just using the navigation on my phone with a good route planner app that includes charging locations like ABRP? I suppose I don't mind sharing usage and location data with HDMC if there's significant value to be found in the app.
I use a quad lock case and use Waze for navigation and when necessary ABRP. I do like it though the ability to control music once the phone is paired with the bike. It can be useful to connect and use the HD app to navigate when I don't have the right case on my phone and have it in my pocket.

To be totally honest, while I love to use the quad lock case on the bike, I don't like how it feels in daily use. So most of the time I only put it on when I am going for a long ride. I guess you could say I have a love/dislike relationship with it. It is great for holding securely on the bike but it is a bit too slick to hand hold and is pretty heavy compared to the normal cases I like to use.

App is so bad I can bring myself to use it. I only connect for music control. Sooner they get Google maps working there better. But I can see my phone where mounted so I don't need it.
