Buying a 2020 Livewire First Strike Vs. a 2020 Livewire

I wanted to post to the community to get everyone’s opinion. I’m a new rider and have been voraciously looking for a used Livewire to buy.

I am down to two, a black, 2020 first strike with about 1,200 miles on it or an Orange 2020 with about 300 miles on it. Price varies about $1000 but I’m working on that.

Let me know your thoughts and opinions. Thanks again.

That's incredibly low mileage on both, and won't make a difference in condition of the bike. Really comes down to how much time is left on the warranty on either one. If it's about color, you can always buy the other tank colors through HD. If it's truly a first strike, make sure it has the certificate to prove it. I have both colors on my two livewires, I favor the orange over the black, so striking in direct sunlight. Good luck and let us know which one you pick!
I would not but the HD bike personally. Lack of long term support is a real issue. If you just want to look at it... If you wanted firmware updates and a working app in a year....
This is new tech. It takes iteration. Buying the first version of it is insane. Especially from a company like HD that doesn't understand this sort of tech. How many people have had failures of things that should just never fail. If you really are a new rider you could be fine on a LW1. I am a returning rider. But honestly the S2 will be much easier to manage. The lighter weight the longer term platform. If you must buy now you would need to get an original HD bike near like the price of an S2. If you really want a LW1 I would get the LW version. Maybe the oldest you can find in warranty. Now a bunch of people are going to tell you I am wrong cause it is a collectors item. A motorcycle that doesn't run because the electronics are dead and you can't get parts make a great show piece. But at that point you will be buying LW and trying to make the work with your HD.
Congrats on your decision to buy a LiveWire. I have had mine now since Late December and it has really rejuvenated my riding. I have put nearly 2500 kms on mine this year so far where in past years I would only have a couple hundred kms on my bikes at this point of the riding season. I want to get on this thing every day even if just going for a short blast.

Short answer get the Black one and never look back.
