Harley fits much larger fork mounted fairings to their own bikes. As long as it is properly mounted, should be fine. In the old days, they were all fork and handlebar mounted.Thanks. First reaction is that thing is massive. Probably bigger than a Honda Goldwing screen.
I'd be really cautious initially at high speeds to make sure you have the alignment right. The problem with big screens on handlebar mounting is they can cause instability issues. I've seen some people get into pretty bad high speed wobbles as the force from the screen goes right into the control inputs of the bike unlike big fairings that are typically frame mounted.
Yes, they did and HD spent a lot of time figure out where to put it. It wasn’t left up to use a trial and error how to mount it.Harley fits much larger fork mounted fairings to their own bikes. “steering brace”? Do you mean steering damper?Definitely more likely since I didn’t see a steering brace anywhere on the LW.
Yes, it was a typo. I meant damper. Though way back when fork braces were often a good idea too given the often spindly tubes.“steering brace”? Do you mean steering damper?
Saw 105 in a valley where I had line of sight and no company. Passing at 97 on the freeway. Sustained in the rain at 80 ish on the freeway. Thanks for sharing. It looks very clean now. You have the coolest looking electric goldwing I've ever seen. Just kidding. Someday I might need that kind of protection but fortunately not at the moment.
On a more serious note, how fast have you taken it up to? I have been thinking about that setup on another bike I have which I plan to ride more year round. It is an ICE bike with no sort of fairing but I spent a lot of time at 80 mph with it.
Puig Universal Touring WindscreenI thought I saw some potential windscreen options somewhere here before I joined but I can't find it. I definitely want to put something on to reduce drag at high speed. I can't seem to find the thread of what might work and work with the aesthetics of the LW.
How about some pics?I installed the Puig on my livewire and it works great. I have experienced the same increase in range. However, I have mine parallel with my front forks. I also experience no buffeting around my helmet, although I do get quite a bit from below on my chest, but that is not much of a problem.
As you requested, this is the only one I have with me, but could send more later. How about some pics?
