I'm liking this QuadLock wireless cell mount/charger.

I picked up power at the P&A power connector above the swingarm pivot, for a fast USB-A charger connection - and ran the wire under the top cover to mount the new higher current USB-A next to the bike's USB-C behind the front cowl.

rotors look fantastic! do you notice any additional braking performance or are they mostly aesthetic?
Oh, there is definitely far more stopping power and less fade. Between increasing to 20mm larger rotors, and changing to Ferodo sinter road pads, the mod is a definite performance improvement.

One more tweak.

The stock front turn signals are too fragile. And to me, look a bit ungainly. So I swapped out for some Custom Dynamics turn/driving light rings on the front forks. I terminated the new light wiring in OEM connectors and plugged them into the bike's harness behind the headlamp.

I like this mod. Reminds of the Rage 360. Other than messing with the fork for installation, it sounds like it was not difficult?

How difficult was it to remove the stock turn signals, do they go away such as nothing is left to tell others they used to be there? No empty mounting points sticking out?

The stock signals unplug behind the headlight. And they are held on with a sigle bolt on the back of the lower triple tree clamp. Nothing left when you pull them off.

I bought OEM connector shells and pins, and wired the new lights to plug in to the bike.

Hi,

I like the mods.

Could you please let us know which parts number do the Braketech discs have? (Is there a KBA number printed on the discs that would make them even street legal in Germany?)

Thanks in advance for your answer!

I like the performance upgrade! I do a bit of spirited mountain riding, and I use minimal regen and late breaking. Also, I like the Braketech quality.

I bought the 320mm kit for LW. But I'm not sure I would recomnend the kit. It comes with left and right rotors, spacers and longer bolts for the calipers. But the provided bolts were for metric threads. HD uses Engish. I ended up sourcing new caliper bolts from another company.

Plus, you can get stainless or ductile rotors; red, black or blue buttons; and, full floating or semi-floating rotors.

I have not seen German approval markings so you would want to ask Braketech about that.

Your best bet is to reach out to the company and talk through the options you want, and what may work for you in Germany.

Thank you very much for your answer on the Braketech rotor kit. (I was not aware that the Showa forks have English threads; these Japanese items usually come with metric threads even on Triumphs, so apparently H-D had them made to order…)
Did you order them directly with Braketech? (Could you please post the article number of the Braketech rotor kit?)

As the BST items are marketed here in Europe via BST Europe (The website is bsteurope.com , where the Livewire, however, is not listed.) it would also be very helpful to know the specs (or the article number) of the BST rims for the Livewire.

As there are only a few hundred Livewires sold so far, any information on the few available aftermarket parts appears to be difficult to find.

Thank you for any additional information.

A few hundred? I think that is not quite right. I had heard in the 3-4K. Which isn't great mind you but it is something.
Unfortunately it still might not be enough for Öhlins, Bitubo, K-Tech, Nitron and other suspension aftermarket suspension manufacturers to start producing parts for Livewire customers.

In addition, for the few parts that are available (BST, Braketech) I could not find information on where to get these parts (in Europe) so far even after some hours spend on the internet. One way to find parts might be to go find those designed (and homologated) for other more often sold H-D models that will also fit a Livewire.

(When dealing long enough with the regulations (and absurdities) of the German „Straßenverkehrzulassungsordnung (STVZO)“ (Yes, that is a real word!) and the German TÜV (stands for „Technischer Überwachungsverein“. We also love abbreviations.) you need to learn on how to become creative within these boundaries…)

HD is reported (in a 2022 news article) to have shipped about 1942 Livewires through 2021. (Edit: In a 2/6/2023 call with HD Customer Support, they told me that in total, HD produced 2291 XA Livewires.)

Livewire Group is reported to have sold 1058 Livewires in 2021 and 2022 (2022 Livewire Group annual report).

So there appears to be about 3000 Livewires at the end of 2022. Although not all of the ELWs may have been sold yet. (Edit: Based on the info provided by HD on 2/6/2023, the total number of XA+XB Livewires produced through 2022 would be about 3,349. This doesn't include any 2023 production.)

As for Braketech rotors, your best bet is to reach out to Braketech directly. They know the Livewire, and you can tell them the configuration that you want. They are just 320 mm rotors for HD, but the part number varies depending on the configuration.

For BST wheels, go direct to BST in South Africa. They know the Livewire and can quote you a price plus shipping. Be prepared to pay customs fees also. You'll need axle bearings also. They only have one wheel set for the Livewire and have not yet released the Livewire wheels for sales through their regional distributors.
