I did both Eric. My car charger works at the same power point. It's a type 1 so can't use it on the bike sadly.

Am hoping î have ended up with a dud charger cause it trips the RCD every where I try it as soon as I plug the bike in.

Thanks very much

Check your breaker. At full capacity, the EVSE will pull about 12amps on a 120V circuit. If you have other devices connected to same circuit, it might trigger a 15amps circuit.
Thanks very much. Just got the bike to Harley. It's the socket on the bike. She is tripping the dealer as well. Funnily, on the fast charger she charges just fine just not on the normal type 2 society.

Appreciate your help

Well, I am facing the same issue at my GirlFriend's place... at home, my 15amps circuits are just fine... At her place I tripped 3 breakers while testing... all 15 amps one. I'll ask the owner to replace for a 20 amps but I am still concerned if it'll be a problem. there is a 20 amps circuit on a 220 circuit but the EVSE is not 220 rated is it?
