HV Disconnected error

Has anyone had the error message HV Disconnected ?
I had this message come up while riding , the bike didn't stop or seem to go into limp mode and i made it to where i was going.
When i stopped and parked the bike i cycled the ignition on and off a few times and the message remained.
I left the bike for 10 or so minutes and when i turned it on again the error was gone and i parked the bike under cover thinking it was a one off thing.
When i turned the bike on in the morning the error was back.
I am yet to contact the dealer to arrange for the bike to be looked at as it happened on a Sunday and the bike isn't at my house
There weren't any other warnings that i could see.

I think I have found the cause , the 12v battery is reading 0.48v .

I had that happen once. I pulled over shut down and took the key fob out of my pocket. When i did the restart, it went away, back into the ride mode. Key back in my pocket and off I rode. No further issues. It appeared that the signal from the fob got blocked.

Thanks gperlow , after reading your reply I tried putting the fob on the cover just behind the charging port and it came up with the PIN number screen.
When I typed in the pin the error was still there.
I powered off the bike and put the fob on the seat , it powered up but still had an error message.
I then swapped the near new battery from my street bob’s fob and same result.
I had charged the 12v battery before doing any of this.
Today I checked the 12v battery and it’s still charged.
The bike was still showing the error and the battery is showing about 70% charge and 0km range.

I cleared the RESS fault , turned off the bike and waited a minute and it powered up and the fault was gone 🙏🏻 and it looks like the bike is good to go.

I did try calling Harley assist and someone from the breakdown service turned up , but the tow vehicle that was arranged to take the bike to the dealer didn’t show up.
When I called them and eventually got through to someone it turns out the tow service canceled the job.

The dealer has looked at the bike , checked and cleared codes & updated software.
Re-flashed the bcm. ( think that was the correct term)
There were no issues with failed or faulty parts.
I had the HV disconnect error earlier this week, was heading to work and had to use the car.
I think the 12V battery is on its way out , it doesn’t seem to have enough capacity in the morning when it’s 16c/60f but will boot up and be rideable in the afternoons when it’s 34c/93f and I managed to ride it the 19km/11miles home.

I am guessing that when it was discharged to a low voltage in March last year it’s life expectancy went down.

Will see how it goes when the new 12V battery arrives.
As much as I love the bike I don't love the occasional errors that get in the way of the fun. I've seen somebody posting on these electronic issues with information from a HD service manual that are helpful. I purchased the general service manual but it seems there is a separate service manual for the electronics. I plan to look into getting one.

I picked the bike up from the dealer today (Saturday morning my time) and it looks like they found and have fixed the problem.
Apparently one of the HV connections wasn't as snug as it should have been , I think the person I spoke to sad the Tech rode over a rough patch of road and the problem happened.
When I had this error happed the first time (6 or 8 months ago) I had just taken off from a set of lights and the intersection was a little bumpy.
Hopefully there is some sort of method for the Harley Dealers to share these sort of problems that they find in the field.

One other thing I had noticed , sometimes when I turn the cruse control on it feels like the bike is accelerating and decelerating , like it's regen braking then accelerating again.
That is on flat level ground.
Perhaps that was caused by the loose connection , will see if it happens again.

I sometimes have that feel with the cruise too. I have started to wonder how the ride mode effects the cruise implementation.
