I will give exact details as soon as I get them. I'm blown away at quotes. Jake at Livewire said the figures were MSRP. But since it's under warranty, it really doesn't make a difference here.

Yet, you have to wonder if Livewire is actually losing money on these bikes

I realize your Livewire is under warranty, so the dollar amount is not an issue for you. The #s seemed high to me. And I also realize your dealing with a Livewire One, but I was told by a Livewire One rep. that the ELW and the XB are put together in the same factory from the same parts. When I first got the H-D Livewire (ELW) I looked up most of the major parts to see what it would cost to replace them, so when I saw $9,000 it seemed high, and looks to me like they are pulling #s out of the air.
I have to admit the prices have gone up since I first checked, and prices constantly increase, but those #s are high for just the OBC and AC Filter.

Again thank you for responding, and I'm looking forward to learning what they actually replace.

I didn't mean to imply that you didn't know that my bike was under warranty. I was reiterating that I was glad I didn't have to pay what they were quoting and, quite frankly, dumbfounded at how they are making any money on the bike.

I also think those quotes are high. And I appreciate the info you have provided me and others here!

Update: Yesterday I got an email from Livewire and a text from my Harley Davidson dealership that my bike is fixed and ready for pickup. I am picking it up in the morning, Saturday.

Specifically, Jake at Livewire said:

We received confirmation from the technician that your bike is done, and is fully validated. They'll be giving you a call to schedule pickup. The tech took some extra steps to make sure it's working properly on the public level 3 charger network, as well as their standard wall outlets. You also have the latest and greatest on-board charger software now, which was released on Monday of this week. It includes a couple significant improvements to the Level 3 charging operation, which will improve its performance with certain types of charge stations that were previously giving us some difficulties. You're one of the first to get this enhancement. Thanks again for being so understanding throughout all this, it's been a pleasure working with you!

That is good news. Fortunately the problem occurred while under warranty. Glad to see Livewire One made the repairs. I've heard that regarding new electronics you should turn them on and leave then on for 2 weeks (I know that's not really an option with our bikes), and if there are any weaknesses in the system they are likely to show up, if nothing fails within 2 weeks, your probably good to go for a long time. I hope that is true, because my bike is past any warranty. The following is not a big deal, and if you don't already know the answer don't worry about responding, but do you know why they replaced the "Vehicle Inlet Assembly CCS1"?
And if you don't mind me asking, what are the gadgets on the right side near the front of the scoop? And what is mounted under the tail section in the rear?

Well I am a more than surprised with all of the parts that were replaced. Especially considering that Jake from Livewire said it was a faulty wire between the OBC and AC filter. The tech who worked on my bike wasn't there when I picked it up yesterday. He's the only one there qualified to work on Livewires. So I couldn't get a detailed explanation.

All I got was the service ticket that I posted above. If you look closely, you will see the mind-blowing cost.

Also quoted above in this thread is the latest from Jake at Livewire, but I plan on reaching out to him Monday for a detailed explanation. At any rate, it looks like they felt it was better to replace damn near everything surrounding the issue except for the battery 😅.

As for the stuff you keenly spied on my bike, I have customized it in the spirit of Tesla. (My wife and I own a model 3 and I hope to one day own I cyber truck.) I have branded my Livewire with Tesla emblems on the front cowl and charging cap. There are Tesla logos on the wheels caps. And four Innovv cameras, one 4K at front and back, and one 1080p on each side mounted on the air scoops. Also mounted on the air scoops is the GPS that comes with the camera sets.

I have also installed LED light strips around the bike with a kill switch mounted in the front. I also have rizoma mirrors and charging cap/plate and handle grips. And a couple of pieces of Livewire's carbon fiber trims on the tank and front cowl.

Wow, you have video coverage on all for sides, just like a Tesla. Thank you for sharing that.

I think H-D did an amazing job with the R&D on the Livewire and the execution is pretty good bad. But I wonder what this bike would be like if Elon was a motorcycle enthusiast, and had, had a hand in the R&D. When most people see a Livewire (ELW or XB) they have no idea what it is, or who makes it, but when people see your Tesla branded XB they probably don't give it a second thought, "of course, it's a Tesla". If someone does ask I can imagine the conversation going something like this: "When it was first released it was a H-D Livewire, now it's a Livewire One, made by a division of
H-D, you know like Lexus is a division Toyota," and then they respond with: "Elon bought H-D?"

Back to the part pricing, I checked another online H-D dealer: Ronnie's H-D. The price for the OBC on your receipt is only $95,86 short of the price of the "Battery, High Voltage".
It's funny how most if not all of the references about the high voltage battery to the public refer to it as the RESS (Restorable Energy Storage System), but in the parts catalog it just "Battery, High Voltage."

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if the service reps wrote up the ticket wrong. Jeez. Good catch. Can you imagine had it not been under warranty, I would have definitely walked away with a hard no looking at that ticket, never even imagining that the quote was wrong.

Thanks for the info!

Using that reasoning; I guess the woman that was actually killed by a self-driving car doesn't matter. I believe there have been several accidents and a few fatalities involving self-driving, but because none of these incidents involve him personally, that's acceptable.

I don't think you want a motorcycle with tesla build quality... sketchy AF.
I think I would. I own a Tesla Model 3. Build quality is fine. No issues so far.

Tesla would do the whole package. Yes, Harley Davidson knows how to build a bike, God bless em, but they don't have a clue when it comes to the rest of the tech, at least when you are talking about what's expected in the electric vehicle market.

My bike doesn’t like my Tesla wall charger much even though the charger is set to any vehicle - important. So I use the charger from the bike which is the same speed it seems. DC charging here in Germany seems hit and miss. Nothing blown so far….
