The ability to seamlessly start a trip on your phone and then continue it on the dash is a neat little feature. Standard security alerts will go a long way in giving owners a piece of mind with their new premium bike. Can't believe they also want to charge a subscription free.
They are going to have to keep it cheap if they want anyone to buy into it. Otherwise people will just buy a mount for their phone and use its built in GPS system. Screen is about the same size.
You get the chance to play around with it for free before deciding if its worth your money at least. We're also getting a decent security system from factory, even if it does get locked behind a paywall later on.
that alone will help to accomplish a lot for the overall riding community as it gets more people interested and pushes for better technology
ultimately for me it means having wearable technology like google glass
Will there be as big of a need for this once v2v communication starts getting implemented? Surely automakers realize that riders are at the most risk on the road.
We are still years away from vehicle to vehicle communication, and it will be entirely dependent on the 5G network rollout. My main concern with this increase in safety tech is the amount of control it will take away from riding.
