No that’s not me on Reddit. I used some mild soap a few weeks ago, and that seemed to resolve it for a bit, however it seems to be back now.are you by chance: Grade_D_Angel on Reddit's HarleyLiveWire sub?
Both of us have squeaking issues... and my resolve was to give the outer edge of the belt a small amount of thick lube.
The challenge here is that it does not last well in contact with other things, like water and mud and such.
During dry months, it will hold (without a squeak) for most of the season... but then first rain and it's back.
It seems to be a rub against the pully mech and HDMC can't seem to resolve it.
I'll be curious what resolves it for you.No that’s not me on Reddit. I used some mild soap a few weeks ago, and that seemed to resolve it for a bit, however it seems to be back now.
I think mine is a combo of fine dust and perhaps the belt is rubbing on the inside of the drive sprocket, as it’s not centered at the moment.I'll be curious what resolves it for you.
I noticed in one of your videos it's MUCH louder than my squeak, but annoying none the less.
mine stops on cruise or steady throttle... and only when I throttle it comes back.
Cold seems to bring mine out for sure. I think belt placement on the sprocket affects this too by rubbing against the walls.Mine seems to have developed after a couple long rain rides and in the very cold... squeak that is...
I could be that the cold weather is causing the rubber around the belt to shrink. My old DSR did this during the winter.Cold seems to bring mine out for sure. I think belt placement on the sprocket affects this too by rubbing against the walls.
