Just picked up my live wire in the UK today - AMAZING! Only downer is that on a £30k bike Harley only give you one fob (poor show after owing 7 Harley’s that usually come with 2!) but local dealer stepped in like a gent. But my query is Range....bike shows full charge and only 102k miles, am I missing something as I was expecting nearer 150mls? Thx all

Your seeing what the computer thinks is your style of riding. The number you see will get better as the computer averages your daily drives. I've had my LW almost a year and I average 200km to 217km range. My best range ever on a ride has been 225km.

Congratulations! I'm about 6 weeks in, almost 800km and couldn't be happier with my decision to buy this bike.

I'm averaging between 200-250km per charge. When I charge to 100%, it's now reading 230km range so, like Mac Mike said, likely will change as you ride.
Cheers

Are you using 'short' or 'long' in the battery bar options?
Just curious.
I just discovered it and it has revolutionized the way I ride it.
To be honest, I'm trying to understand why it's even changeable...
Stay safe.

"Riding Style" is definitely going to change things.
When I purchased mine over a year ago, it always said 105miles from a full charge, but I frequently got around 140-170 on average (my style of riding - mixed fast and slow).

That said, something has either changed in the calibration of software updates or it's learning me better, as a full charge now indicates around 133miles which is clearly closer to what I get on average.

Curious to know if anyone knows the differences between short and long range. Of course I can see what is changing on the screen, but is one the min and the other the max?

it will change as you drive but it's closely related to speed.

the short range is for faster riding.
the long range is for slower driving.
and of course the average is based on your average speeds from last full up.

all fluctuate very easy.

I try to stick to the average unless I'm running low and a station is a bit away then I ride slower.

that said, it's not much different than an ice... the faster you go there more you use.

if you think you have to take the freeway to get home and your short range is low, you might not make it... without a charge stop.

Gotcha - so it has nothing to do with:

short is the mileage as you’ve been driving for the past 5 min, long 30 min?

well, it does have to do with your riding speeds. it's calculating how you're riding.

the slower you go, the more your "available" range increases (the high number.)
the faster you go, the less range you'll have (the low assumption.)

if you have a high number 'cause you've been riding 30mph for weeks and then got on the highway, expect (the high number) to go down from the highway ride... the low number will likely also, just not as greatly.
