I have a 2020 ELW that I fear may have a failed OBC. After my last ride for the season a few weeks ago, I parked my bike in my garage and was charging it up to meet the range specified for long term storage in the manual. Around approximately 46% I got a notification that my bike had stopped charging and the breaker had tripped for my garage. I reset the breaker, unplugged the bike but it will no longer charge. When I plug it in, the EVSE starts blue as normal but turns to red in moments. I’ve tried different outlets in my garage, clearing the fault codes, and checking the fuses to no avail. I haven’t yet called the dealer as I have a few months of winter to do that if need be but I’m trying to see if I can avoid a trip there if possible. Anything I’m missing Or possible solutions? I have attached the codes for my bike. The first is before I tried clearing the codes and the second is more recent.

I have not yet been able to try a different evse. The only person I know who has one lives a fair distance away. I don’t think that’s the problem as the blue light indicator on mine acts as normal but consider it a possibility.

often lights still work on devices but the board has been fried elsewhere.
I'd putt on down to a local charger somewhere and make sure it still charges off that.
If it does, then it is very likely the portable one (the one the bike came with.)

If you buy another buy it from LiveWire... HDMC' is like $1K!!

That’s a possibility. Unfortunately the nearest charger is 20 min away and i won’t be venturing out on my bike for a while due to the sand and salt on the roads from recent weather events. I’ll try to borrow my buddys evse and go from there.

I use my dad's leaf one regularly cause of the long cable. Level 1 seems pretty compatible.

I maybe showing my ignorance here but I’ve never seen faults codes like that on my display only the caution symbol or “call service”. Did you interact with the display or switches to get the fault codes? Whenever I’ve had any issues, including the bike refusing to start/move, I’ve cycled the power switch on/off 2-3 times and it returns to normal operation. It’s frustrating to deal with diagnostic errors but so far I haven’t had to return to the dealer. Any level 1 or 2 charger with a J1772 connector could at least eliminate that as the problem. Hello Colton,
When did you buy the bike..? Harley-Davidson has a 2 year warranty on the OBCS.
If your 2 year warranty has not expired, you might want to call HD right away. Most dealerships will come pick the bike up for free in the winter time.
I had a different type of problem with my OBCS and HD had to fly a technician from the factory to come verify the issue and then replace the OBCS under warranty (otherwise it's a $6000 part).

1st, according to the LiveWire service specialist at my dealer, the “H” at the end of the DTCs indicate that the code is “historic” and has resolved itself; and
2nd, have you tried clearing the codes, riding the bike (even for just a few yards/meters, and attempting to charge again?

havent and probably won’t be able to ride at all for the foreseeable future here even just a little. I did clear the codes once and nothing did change. The insight in the DTCS seems like good news as it may just be the EVSE. But won’t know more until I can try a different one.

Here are the faults associated with your DTC’s. These are found in the:
“H-D Livewire Model 2020 H-D Electrical Diagnostic Manual” This manual gives testing procedures for the related faults, but most of, but not all testing requires specialized H-D equipment.
Not sure if you already have the code definitions or if this helps but it can’t hurt.

DTC P0CEE12:
Hybrid/EV electronics coolant temperature sensor “A”- short circuit to battery

DTC P0D201C:
Battery charger output performance - circuit voltage out of range

DTC P1D3300:
12V power supply voltage fault

DTC P1D4400:
Loss of communication with PLC controller

DTC U04228F:
Invalid data from BCM

DTC P0D2716:
AC NOT CHARGING
Possible Causes:
Tripped AC supply breaker or GFI
Faulty charge station or cable
Open AC filter circuit
Faulty OBC

DTC P1D3A00:
AC cable disconnected

DTC P2B2012:
Hybrid/EV electronics coolant temperature sensor “B”- circuit short to battery

DTC P2B2412:
I cannot find this DTC, all but one (P2B9C19) DTC’s starting with “P2B????” pertain to the coolant temperature sensor “B”.
DTC P2B9C19: Coolant pump “A” stuck/stalled. (Not one of your DTC’s)

DTC U04228F:
Invalid data from BCM | Lost communication

Yes I did try that once and received the same result where it attempted to start but got a red light from the EVSE.

I haven’t yet tried it on another circuit. I only have one in my garage and there isn’t another one i can access on my property for the time being.

The only change from previous attempts was I let her sit a full week untouched and I brought the EVSE inside the house in that time frame. I’ll charge her up to around 65% and go from there. thanks for the help everyone.
