Good morning fellow bikers,
There are very few luggage solutions for the Livewire One, especially if you want to keep the pillion seat free. That's why I bought the SW-Motech saddlebags.
Unfortunately, it was a disappointment: The Velcro fastener is about 12 cm too long, meaning a large part of the Velcro surface isn't in contact with the bag, and the bag isn't held securely. It's a bit outrageous that the bags are advertised with photos and a video on YouTube as being suitable for the Livewire. So, if you buy them, you'll have to budget time and money to shorten the Velcro fastener, about 6 cm on each side; a good tailor or shoemaker could probably do that.
Overall, the build quality isn't up to the standard of the Livewire and isn't appropriate for €380. For example, the mounting plate is made of simple steel. This means it's unnecessarily heavy and will rust if the paint gets scratched. It simply doesn't match the Livewire frame, which is made of aluminum.
Installation takes a long time: No suitable tools are included, everything is delivered in individual parts like at Ikea, and the instructions are poor.
The bolt that replaces the original Livewire bolt is hexagonal instead of Torx and is of lower quality.
I don't want to discourage the purchase altogether, but I want to share what you can expect. Frank has already posted some of these points in the forum, but I wanted to go into a little more detail.
Safe travels, Paul
